Cupp's Vacuum Center: Your Trusted Vacuum Experts in Williamsport, PA

Welcome to Cupp's Vacuum Center, your reliable partner for all your vacuum needs. With over half a century of experience in the vacuum cleaner business, our commitment to providing top-notch service is unwavering. Yancy Cupp, the owner of Cupp's Vacuum Center, has been a part of this industry all his life, and our story is deeply rooted in our family's dedication to delivering quality products and exceptional service.

Our Legacy: A Family Tradition

Our journey began in 1955 when Robert “Bob” Cupp ventured into the world of vacuum cleaners. Starting with selling Electrolux vacuum cleaners door to door, he soon opened a storefront on Grace Street. Bob's hard work and dedication allowed the business to grow, supporting the Cupp family.

In 1964, the business relocated to Kenwood Avenue in Old Lycoming Township, where Larry Cupp joined his father in 1975. Despite his early career at Bethlehem Steel, Larry was drawn back to the world of vacuums. His father patiently trained him in vacuum repair and sales, igniting Larry's passion for the business.

A Transition and Continuation

Although Larry briefly returned to Bethlehem Steel in 1977, he couldn't stay away from the vacuum business. Operating from the basement of his home at 646 Fifth Avenue, Larry's journey as a vacuum repair expert began when he fixed an acquaintance's vacuum cleaner. This inspired him to start his own repair business.

Placing a classified ad in the Sun-Gazette and investing $95 in parts, Larry's business started gaining momentum. By 1984, he left Bethlehem Steel, purchased a new house, and transformed his former residence into a full-time vacuum repair shop. This move marked a significant step forward, allowing customers to receive service without having to venture into their own basements.

Bob Cupp returned from Florida just a year after relocating there due to his wife Irene's homesickness. He began assisting his son's growing business part-time until his retirement in 1998, and he passed away in 2000.

In 1992, the torch was passed to the next generation, with Larry's son Yancy joining the business. Now, Yancy and his wife Melissa continue the legacy, running Cupp's Vacuum Center with the same dedication and passion.

Community and Compassion

Beyond providing exceptional service, we're proud to be a part of the Williamsport community. Yancy Cupp, as a third-generation store owner, goes above and beyond for the community, especially during the holiday season. He extends a helping hand to local vagrant and disabled members through shopping trips, Christmas tree donations, furniture gifts, fun day trips, and shared meals. Yancy is the embodiment of the values we hold dear, and he's always ready to give back to those in need.
